3-D Diorama

Hey blogger friends!

I have what's being called a 3-D diorama to share today.

Entering in these challenges:

Aud Sentiment - #188 AG
Crafting With Friends - #50 AAG
Crafty Creations - #350 AAG
Crafty Sentiments - Dies/ or Punches
Creative Fingers - #136 AAG

Penny's - #346 AAG
Polkadoodles - #36/37 AAG
QKR Stampede - #261 AG
The Paper Shelter - #309 Embossing

The dies on the front is from Crafter's Companion Die-sire dies. What's cool about these are that there are two seperate dies, a left side and a right side that you can use seperately or together, plus 2 more seperate butterflies. I chose to use both sides, which fits together seemlessly, and one of the butterflies.

On this one, the diorama is just a front and a back. But I've seen very intricate ones with as many as 6 layers deep. Pretty fun. Maybe one of these days I'll give it a shot.

The base papers for this is pretty easy.  The dies put together cut a 5x5" opening. So I figured a 6x6" front, plus 1/2 " on either side, plus another 1" on either side.
So you cut 2, 9x6" pcs of paper, scoring at 1", 1 1/2", 7 1/2" and 8", and then cut out the dies in the center. After you decorate both pieces, you adhere the two 1" sides together.

That's it for today!
Thanks for stoppin' by and to all the challengers above for lettin' me play along.

Happy BEE-day!

Evening blogger peeps!

Wow! It's been over a month since my last post, where did August go?!

I've got a Bee-day card to share that I saw on Pinterest that I thought I'd try.

Entering in these challenges:

Aloha Fridays - #102 Birthdays
Brown Sugar - #266 AG
Catch The Bug - #9-1 AG
Crafting With Friends - #49 AAG
Crafty Creations - #349 AAG
Crafty Sentiments - AG
Creative Fingers - #136 AAG

Pammie's Inky Pinkies - #1736 AAG
Polkadoodles = #34/35 AAG
Tuesday Throwdown - #359 Punches or Dies
The Sisterhood of Crafters - AG

This is what I'm calling a Center Step Card w/ a Center Stage.

I didn't have a template for this I just eyeballed it from the picture and came up with a 7x10" base, with 3/4" sides that fold at 1" increments, and then cut in another 1" from the sides and 3/4" from the top for the stage, with 1/4" fold at the back of the stage pc to adhere to the back of the card.
Don't know if that makes any sense.

For the bee hive, I cut strips of paper at graduating different lengths and used my corner rounder punch and scissors to make the ends round, (that was a little tricksey) then glued them together. I glued a pc of black paper to the back (for the entrance) about 1/4" longer than the hive and folded it back to adhere to the stage and to make it stand up.

The flowers are daisy dies that I had in my stash, and the bees.

The hexagon background is an embossing folder that I inked with a brayer and just pressed onto the paper.     The sentiment I printed out from WordPad on my computer, cut on a banner die.

That's it for now.
Thanks for takin' a peak and to all the challengers above for lettin' me play along.
Blessings!
